Grant Application

We have applied for government funding through the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The objective of this Phase I SBIR proposal is to investigate the feasibility of Infratico’s EMbed technology for precision guidance and checkpointing of autonomous vehicles.

Using this technology, one may enable smart structures that can relay information in an Infrastructure-to-Everything (I2X) paradigm. In the case of guidance for autonomous or connected vehicles with human drivers, the structures to endow with intelligence might be the pavement that vehicles travel on. Information being provided can be of static (lane markers, stop signs, etc.) or dynamic (road condition, traffic patterns, etc.) nature. By embedding the technology within pavement, it can also achieve Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) tasks such as detection of bottom-up cracks to alert stakeholders before such damage becomes visible on the surface.

Ongoing Deployments

Our technology is being evaluated in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. To be clear, they are not endorsing the product or our company at this time, but have provided access for a real-world test site.

Other ongoing deployments may be listed here, pending approval for disclosure by our customers.
